What is the difference between "Upper Cervical" and other chiropractics?

Chiropractic Treatments does need not be harsh or painful to be effective. The most obvious difference you'll find with an Upper Cervical Chiropractor is the gentle, painless way in which your doctor works.  No strenuous manipulation, snapping or popping is ever needed.

The Atlas Orthogonist method requires such light touches to the affected area that patients rarely feel the adjustment being made. They do, however, notice the almost immediate results of the treatment which include improved mobility and reduced pain within days of the treatment.

Is this chiropractic method safe for children?

Absolutely. Our patients range in age from infants to the elderly. Upper Cervical Chiropractics gently realigns the top most vertebrae with the central nervous system. We've never had a patient who didn't respond well to treatment and the procedure is perfectly safe for all ages.

Who can benefit from an Atlas Orthogonist ?

When the spinal cord and nervous system are out of alignment the bodies natural healing abilities are hindered. Upper Cervical Chiropractics realigns these items thus helping the body to achieve it's natural healthy state. Almost anyone can benefit from regular Upper Cervical Treatments and we have seen amazing results with patients who have the following aliments:

  • recurrent headaches
  • chronic pain
  • general stiffness
  • numbness or pain in the shoulders
  • lower back pain
  • PMS
  • hay fever
  • high blood pressure
  • rheumatism
  • slipped discs
  • seizures

Who isn't a candidate for upper cervical chiropractics ?

Our practice takes a holistic approach to patient treatment. We do feel that most people will greatly benefit from regularly scheduled alignments which keeps the central nervous system working at peak performance. However, we occasionally do not recommend treatment if we feel the patient has unrealistic expectations. Upper Cervical Chiropratcis in NOT a cure. It is a treatment which assists the body to regain it's own natural balance. When the body is properly aligned, your body has a much easier time of healing itself, as it is no longer fumbling around a poor connection to the nervous system.

How is the treatment determined ?

Your doctor will review you medical history, x-rays and exam results. He/She will then meet with you to discuss the results and address any questions or concerns you may have. A joint decision will be made by you and your doctor as to whether Upper Cervical Chiropractics will be beneficial for your condition.

Are X-rays necessary ?

Yes.  In order for your doctor to provide an accurate diagnosis, the doctor must be able to study spinal misalignment, disease and posture from patient x-rays. We use a low exposure x-ray system and these radiographs allow us to apply mathmatical and physical calculations to your Atlas correction. It is because of the precision of the Atlas Orthogonal Method, that our patients immediately notice health improvements.
